0 Top 5 Google Adsense Alternatives
AdBrite – AdBrite has been one of the longest lasting competitors to Adsense, and has become quite popular as an alternative. It works under the same basic principles, and you do have to be approved to join, but once you have been let in – which isn’t all that hard – you will be presented with essentially the same options and abilities as what Google provides. You can also set your payment options for far lower than Google allows, so you could be getting checks a lot more often with this service.
Bidvertiser – One of the biggest problems with most advertising systems is that advertisers have no clue where their ads will end up. With Bidvertiser the publisher puts the code on their site, the advertisers look through the available ad slots, and then they can bid against one another for the most desirable locations. It’s a bit of a win for everyone involved. Payouts start at only $10, so it shouldn’t be too hard to see the money start to come in.
Chitika – Chitika provides a lot of alternatives to the usual “context advertising.” If someone enters your a site via a search engine, they will be shown ads based on the terms they used to find your site, all the while your regular visitors won’t see a thing. This is a great way to monetize to the casual server without driving away your most loyal readers. The company also provides local-focused and mobile ads to help you earn money in new and interesting ways. Payouts start at $10 for PayPal and $50 if you’d like to receive a check.
Clicksor – While Clicksor is a contextual advertising solution like so many others, it is also a bit more versatile than most in that it offers not only the usual ad units, but also inline, rich media and more. Think of it as one stop shopping for all of your advertising needs. Payments start at $50 be either PayPal or check.
eClickZ – This solution offers up some interesting bonuses such as an XML feed you can monetize, domain parking and even building your own search portal in addition to the usual contextual ads.
Advertising solutions out there are vast, but in this day and age there is just about something for publishers of every size.

0 Google Adsense Alternatives
1 Media.net
Probably of all the ad networks on the
list, this is the least known but it is also the best. They offer
very innovative solutions, such as content ads, search targeting, web
bar, and mobile ads. Media.net is especially good for huge sites with
lots of US, UK, and Canada traffic. One of the downsides of Media.net
is that the payment is at $100 but for a huge site this should be
pocket money.
2 Chitika
Chitika doesn't offer that many types
of ads but its main advantage is that the ads it offers are very
targeted. The CTR is great because the ads are displayed only when a
user comes from a search engine. Its low $10 payout is also good
because even if your site is small, or you use only one ad block,
most likely you will be getting payments monthly instead of having to
wait for them for months.
3 Bidvertiser
Bidvertiser is another (mainly) PPC
network, though they started offering a conversion bonus. Its payout
is also at $10, which means for a small site it is also an option.
4 Infolinks
Infolinks offers in-text advertising.
In-text ads are very unobtrusive compared to the rest and they don't
eat space because they are displayed as popups when the user hovers
over the hyperlink in the text they are anchored to. In-text ads from
Infolinks work surprisingly well, though it varies depending on the
niche. However, its payout of $50 isn't very nice, if your site(s)
are small because you might have to wait for months to reach it.
5 adBrite
Many webmasters consider adBrite to be
the best Google Adsense alternative but since my experience with them
isn't as good as my experience with Chitika or Infolinks, it comes as
Number 5. adBrite is essentially an ad marketplace, where buyers and
sellers can communicate to negotiate the price. This is what makes it
different from the rest. However, you need to have a very popular
site with a very lucrative demographics in order to make it there
because the competition is really huge.
6 Clickbank
If you do not insist on using CPC ads
as a Google Adsense alternative but are open to suggestions, then you
should try affiliate sales (known also as CPA – Cost Per Action).
Clickbank is the Mecca of CPA offers and it should be your first
stop. Clickbank offers probably millions of products and choosing
what to promote could be the hardest task. However, the rewards you
get could be times what you are making with Adsense on a good day.
7 Amazon
Amazon is another CPA ad network that works well for many
publishers. It is especially good if you have a tech site because
there are lots of cool gadgets there but since they have offers in
almost any niche, it is also an option. Their ads are context
sensitive and because of this are almost always relevant. However,
their terms are very complicated and it will take you a lot of time
to get familiar with what commissions you will be getting for your
sales.
8 Kontera
Kontera is another in-text network you
can consider an alternative to Google Adsense. It is comparable in
performance with Infolinks but again, this varies a lot depending on
the niche. However, if you are to choose between Kontera and
Infolinks, I will definitely pick Infolinks.
9 eBay
If Clickbank, Amazon, and a few other of the top CPA networks
don't work for you, you could give eBay a try. Again, your success
(or the lack of it) with it varies depending on the niche but you can
make some money with it. I wouldn't put eBay ads as my primary source
of income because this will waste space I can use for better ads.
However, as a secondary or even tertiary advertiser, if you have some
free space left, eBay could be given a try.
10 LinkShare
You might be surprised to find
LinkShare – a relatively unknown company - on the list of Top
Adsense alternatives but it is an alternative for real. It has a huge
choice of offers and they pay at $1. Maybe it is even better than the
rest on this list because if your site isn't huge, you won't have to
wait for months (or even years) till you get the paycheck. Linkshare
has offers in almost any niche and there you will find many of the
best advertisers from all over the world.
0 10 Google AdSense Tips
- Ads can work well in-between other stuff. On a games site of mine, some of the games don't contain ads next to the game area; the AdSense ad will only be shown in-between game rounds. This is the time the visitor is not concentrating on performing a task but might take a small break, and be open to the option of visiting new sites.
- Put too much emphasis on AdSense and your site may be linked to less. The more available space you dedicate to AdSense on your site, and the less you differentiate between ads and content in your design, the more money you earn with the program, right? Not quite. While pushing the AdSense may result in short-term gains, it might also convince some visitors that the site is too crowded to be worth visiting again. And some of those visitors may also be bloggers or other people who might otherwise help to promote your site with links to it. And the less your site gets linked to, the less traffic it gets, meaning AdSense revenues may go down in the long term.
- Even if you get huge traffic, the AdSense income from the site is more dependent on the site type and audience. Google targets AdSense ads automatically to the site content. Or at least, it does so ideally – but some types of content fare better than others with this targeting. I noticed for instance that AdSense does better on a games site than on a technology blog. I also heard people say that AdSense does quite good on product oriented blogs; say, one post solely about the iPod; another post solely about Gadget XYZ, and so on.
- Image ads can be relevant and work for you, but they might also apall some visitors.
Google's AdSense program gives you the option to choose between a
couple of different ad formats. Two main groups are text ads vs text
& image ads. When you choose the latter, Google will deliver what
they deem works best for your content (or so one would hope, and it
would be in Google's best self-interest to serve you the best possible
ad, it seems).
- When it comes to context sensitive targeting, you can increase or lower the importance of certain parts of your page.
To help Google find a matching ad for your content, you can use the
HTML comment syntax by encapsulating more important parts with
<!-- google_ad_section_start --> ... your important site content here ... <!-- google_ad_section_end -->.
Or, to lower the importance of a section, use:
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> ... your not so important site content here ... <!-- google_ad_section_end -->
(Google notes that it may take up to 2 weeks for this change to your site will be taken into account by the AdSense.)
What if your site doesn't have any good matchable content to begin with, though? Say, the page just includes an image. Well, for the reasons of search engine optimization but also ad optimization you might want to consider using at least a descriptive title, an explanatory footer containing the important keywords or keyphrases (the kind of footer that actually helps the human visitor by explaining what the page is about). In the case of image content, reasonable alt and title attribute texts should be used as well.*
*Whatever you do, don't resort to "keyword-stuffing" as it doesn't help your visitors and may get your page ranked lower in search engines. - Be aware of risks when you change ad layouts too much.
I once had a system on the server to randomly differ between various
AdSense layouts on the same page. Doing so I was hoping to add some good
variety to keep the ads at least somewhat interesting and notable.
Shortly after I stopped doing so and simply included a rather big static
area for the AdSense to "do what it wants," the AdSense revenues for
that site increased. Now, I don't know if this was a coincidence of some
sorts, as revenues often go down or up even when you don't do anything,
but it might well have been that there was a connection between adding
too much homemade randomization, and lowered revenues.
At another time, during the redesign of this blog, I switched from one ad format to another for the end-of-posts AdSense ad space. This, combined with perhaps other layout changes, suddenly cut the ad revenues in half for the blog. It took me some time to realize that I had some ad channels* set up for the specific old layout size, and by changing this I must have kicked out all those advertisers who were pushing their ads through the channel.
*This setting can be found at AdSense Setup -> Channels. - Use competing ad systems when AdSense doesn't seem to work for a site.
At CoverBrowser.com, which shows galleries of comic and book covers and
so on, I tried including AdSense ads in "non-annoying" places in the
layout (including trying to use AdSense affiliate links via AdSense
Setup -> Referrals), but this didn't seem to work at all. However I
then tried "affiliating" the "buy" link below individual covers,
utilizing the eBay affiliate commission system offered by AuctionAds.com*. (Disclosure: Patrick Gavin, co-owner of AuctionAds, paid me for consulting before on other projects, like Sketchcast.com.) This worked a lot better, and as it was simply connected to an existing site feature, it also didn't add clutter.
A good start to find other ad programs is to search for adsense alternatives on Google... you will see a lot of lists which are dedicated to competitors. (Note that some of these competitors may be US-only.) You may also want to join an ad or blog network like The Deck, Federated Media (disclosure: I was part of Federated Media before), or 9 Rules. Before joining such a network – which might require you to show them your traffic stats and so on – check if their typical ads and campaigns fit with your site layout and your general ad type preferences.
*CommissionJunction also offers an eBay affiliate system but CommissionJunction has really low usability, in my opinion; setting it up is confusing. - Sometimes you may get a sudden increase in traffic, hence ad clicks, but you can't locate the source of the traffic. I'm using Google Analytics
to track my sites, though AdSense is also a good first indicator of
traffic explosions... because it will show the combined page views of
all your sites (provided you include AdSense on all of them), as opposed
to Google Analytics, where you need to check site by site individually.
However, sometimes even with Google Analytics, you won't be able to locate the source of your traffic because there's no specific new popular referrer being shown (a referrer is the site linking to your site, provided people click on that link). In these cases, it may well be that your site has been discussed in a TV show or similar, as the show won't "link" to you (but audiences will be entering your domain manually into the browser when they like what the saw on TV). When you feel that there has been a traffic explosion sometimes you may get additional email feedback in regards to your site, and it makes sense for you to ask your visitor: where did you first find out about the site? Maybe the can let you know about the name of the TV show, or magazine, or other "offline" source responsible for the peak. (I sometimes sent pointers to the BBC Click show for instance, with partly enormous effect.) - Consider using AdSense even when the page doesn't get any traffic yet.
Who knows, some day the traffic suddenly explodes, and you might not
realize fast enough and thus miss out on the action (as sometimes,
traffic goes as fast as it comes).
On the other hand, reversely I would suggest to never do a site just to make ad money with it. That kind of motivation may lead to spammy sites that don't help anyone really. (If a project is great, it's great even if it doesn't make any money.) - Making money with AdSense takes time. In my
experience, it may take many months to years for a site to gain enough
traffic to make OK money through AdSense... if ever. I have almost never
experienced any site making quick and easy money with AdSense (though
you may be getting quicker results than me of course, as it depends on
so many variables!).
I think for any site getting a couple of thousands of visitors a day, you might want to start playing around with AdSense to see where it takes you (if you didn't already include AdSense anyway just to see what happens, and following up on tip #9). As you are paid in US-$, the actual benefit the ad revenue will bring depends on your local costs of living as well (you might even ponder moving or going on an extended holiday trip if your local costs of living are too high for your site revenues to cover).
- When it comes to context sensitive targeting, you can increase or lower the importance of certain parts of your page.
To help Google find a matching ad for your content, you can use the

0 Add a Facebook Invite Friends Link to your Blogger Site
Create a Bit.ly URL for your blog
The first thing you'll need to do is create a short bit.ly url for your blog. This will enable us to circumvent the requirement for a secure base URL (beginning with https which we can't natively use with Blogger).Make a note of this short bit.ly URL as you will need it when creating your app on Facebook.
Create your Facebook App
Now you'll need to create a Facebook Application as you'll need an appID to use in your code. Visit the Apps page on Facebook Developers to do this.Name your application and fill in the first set of details as follows:
- Display Name - The name of your site
- Namespace - yournamespace (this will feature in the URL for your app. eg: http://apps.facebook.com/bloggerbuster)
- Contact email - your email address
- App Domains - The URL(s) of the blog(s) you will be using this app for (eg: http://yourblog.blogspot.com)
Next, click on "Select how your app integrates with Facebook" and fill in details as follows:
If you like, you can add an icon and thumbnail for your application at the top of the page; these will appear when readers use your app. Then save your changes.
- Website with Facebook Login - Your blog's URL (eg: http://yourblog.blogspot.com)
- Canvas URL - Here you'll need to enter the bit.ly url you generated for your site, adding a question mark at the end. For example, http://bit.ly/blgrbstr?
- Secure Canvas URL - Enter your blog's bit.ly URL beginning with https (eg: https://bit.ly/blgrbstr?)
If you like, you can add an icon and thumbnail for your application at the top of the page; these will appear when readers use your app. Then save your changes.
Once you've done this, be sure to make a note of your App ID which will
be shown at the top of the page as you'll need to add this to the code
to be pasted in your site.
Add a custom gadget to your site
Finally, go to the Layout section of your Blogger dashboard and choose to add (or edit) an HTML/JavaScript gadget.
Paste the following code into your gadget, replacing the values highlighted in red and blue:
This will create a basic text link which your blog visitors can click to bring up a Facebook dialogue box in which their friends can be invited to visit your site.

Final thoughts
Admittedly it did take a while for me to figure out how to get my own app working properly. The biggest problem I had was finding a way to use a secure base URL as Blogger does not support https requests. Thankfully I discovered that bit.ly enables us to use a secure shortened URL, though you could alternatively use the free service provided by Social Server.I hope you have found this tutorial to be useful in creating your own "Invite Facebook Friends" link for your Blogger powered site. 0 Create navigation buttons to enhance your blog
Here is an example of the buttons you can create
using this tutorial (though the links in these buttons all point back to
this page!):
HomeAboutContact
To create these buttons for your blog, we don't need to use any external images! With a little CSS styling, you can easily create navigation buttons which change color when your mouse hovers over them, making it easier to see that these are indeed clickable links. This style of button is helpful to your visitors and invites them to view the important pages you link to using these links.
There are two main steps to creating these buttons for your blog:
Here are the steps in detail:
The styling code used for the buttons featured above is as follows:
You will notice that there are two statements in this styling: the first defines what the buttons will look like as they appear in your blog, while the second (hover) statement defines the background color of the button when you place your cursor over the button (the "mouseover" effect).
In this new widget, you should add your links in the following format:
Once you have created your links (you can add as few or as many as you like), save your HTML/Javascript widget, and take a look at the effect in your blog.
With a few tweaks, you can change the style of these buttons to completely blend with the overall appearance of your blog template, and create attractive clickable buttons to your important pages which your visitors will love

There are two main steps to creating these buttons for your blog:
- Add some styling code to your blog's template
- Create a new HTML/Javascript widget, and create your links
Here are the steps in detail:
Add some code to the style section of your blog template
The "style" section of "layouts" blogs is contained between the <b:skin> and </b:skin> tags in your template. The simplest way to add extra styling code is to place this just after the closing </b:skin> tag (key CTRL+F to easily find this in your template).The styling code used for the buttons featured above is as follows:
a.navigation {If you copy and paste this code just before the closing </b:skin> tag in your blog template, you will easily be able to create your navigation buttons. If you prefer, you can change the color of the backgrounds (highlighted in red) to colors which better suit your blog. You can easily find the hex values for the colors you need by using the Color Calculator in the tools section of this site.
background: #000000;
color: #ffffff;
margin: 1px;
padding: 5px 35px 5px 5px;
border-width: 0;
text-transform: uppercase;
text-decoration: none;
font-weight: bold;
}

background: #5d5d54;
text-decoration: none;
}

Create your links in an HTML/Javascript widget
Once you have added this style code to your template, you should save your template and go to the layouts section of your blog (Template>Layout). Here you should create a new HTML/Javascript widget where you would like your buttons to appear.In this new widget, you should add your links in the following format:
<a class="navigation" href="http://your-link-url.blogspot.com">Your link</a>Be sure to replace "http://your-link-url.blogspot.com" with the URL of the post page (or link) you would like the button to link to, and replace the link text (eg: Your Link) with the text you would like to display.
<a class="navigation" href="http://your-link-url.blogspot.com">Your second link</a>
<a class="navigation" href="http://your-link-url.blogspot.com">Your third link</a>
Once you have created your links (you can add as few or as many as you like), save your HTML/Javascript widget, and take a look at the effect in your blog.
How this works
The styling code we add to the template creates styling rules for "anchor links" which are given the class of "navigation". We can use different "classes" to create different effects for elements which appear in your blog layout; the class we give for the navigation links does not affect other links in your template, only those which have the class of "navigation".With a few tweaks, you can change the style of these buttons to completely blend with the overall appearance of your blog template, and create attractive clickable buttons to your important pages which your visitors will love

0 How to Increase Blog Traffic – 8 Ways to Transform Your Blog into a Must Visit Destination
How to Increase Blog Traffic – 8 Ways to Transform Your Blog into a Must Visit Destination
If you are a blogger I am going to say something here that you might balk at!Getting traffic and prospective customers to your blog isn’t that difficult!
There, I said it. Do you agree or are you one of those in the camp that constantly struggles when it comes to knowing the exact methods of how to increase blog traffic?
In this post you will learn 8 ways to drive new visitors to your blog, but (and this is a big BUT!), you have to be consistent, thorough, unrelenting and committed to your blogging or else your blog will simply be the next ghost town.
This is a multipronged approach that includes both online and offline marketing efforts, some paid and some free. You can use these techniques to master the art of increasing traffic and bumping up conversion rates.
1. Organic Search
Google still is, and for a long time will be, the main traffic driver on the web. In order to benefit from Google’s generosity of sharing their customers, as that is essentially what search traffic is, you have to play by the search engine’s rules. Therefore getting your site to rank high remains an important way to drive traffic. Search engine optimisation is a critical strategy to drive organic search results.2. External Links
Your website is an island a vast ocean that is the internet. In order to attract more traffic you need to build more bridges for people to come visit. These bridges are what are known as links and links play a vital role in determining the credibility of your website to the search engines.One thing to mention here is that not all links are equal. If your site discussed pony trekking then a link from a cake baking article is not really a valid citation. If your theme is eighteen wheel trucks and you have a link from Barbie dolls, again that’s not valid. You want to make sure that the site where the link comes from is a good match for what your blog discusses.
The next three items on the list are paid methods of attracting more traffic to your blog, which if you know your conversion rate and you have a monetisation strategy then these will work for you. If you are still getting started then until you master the art of tracking and conversion which is a different topic altogether then you might want to skip to number 6.
3. PPC Advertising
Paid keywords, such as Google Adwords, have proven themselves to be cost effective methods for driving targeted traffic to your site. Although cost can be prohibitive for many niches, providing you know your conversion rates and are constantly testing and tweaking, adwords is a way to drive instant targeted traffic to your site.Google offers a lot of resources to help small business owners learn everything from the basics of using adwords to mastering advanced user strategies and tips. Google Adwords Small Business Center
4. Affiliate Traffic.
Affiliate traffic is when you pay a third party a referral fee for getting targeted traffic to your site. Affiliates use their own online marketing techniques, methods and internet real estate to advertise your product or service and send the traffic to your site. You may not want to take on this task until you are more established as affiliates want to know expected conversions in return for their investment.5. Paid Banner Advertising
Banners are perhaps the oldest form of advertising on the internet. They act much like billboards in real life. You place a banner in an area of high traffic and when some someone shows interest in what you are offering then they click through and are taken immediately to your site or landing page.6. Offline efforts
Not everything you do has to stay online. Promoting your site offline though business cards and networking can help drive traffic to your blog.
Every time you meet someone who you feel could benefit from your content then let them know that you blog and direct them there. If something comes up in a conversation that you have covered on your blog, say , “I wrote a blog about that you should check it out” or after the event drop that person an email.
“We were talking about offline marketing efforts during the networking event and I thought I would share a blog I wrote discussing the exact same issue. Once you have read it leave me a comment at the bottom to let me know your thoughts”
The more people that know about your blog the more likely other people are to find and share it and at the same time you establish yourself as a thought leader.
7. Content
If you don’t have any content then there is no reason for people to check out your site. They’ll hit back on their browser and move on.Quality content is absolutely fundamental to the success of your blog. Having bad content is like inviting people to a party and then telling them that there is no food or drink. People get disgruntled and leave.
Give people a strong reason to visit but more importantly to stay, subscribe and share. If you don’t have the content then this will not happen, so prior to inviting people and certainly before attempting any of the paid advertising methods make sure there is plenty of juicy content for people to find.
8. Email Newsletters.
When you have gone through all the hard work of attracting people to your site then you want to be in a position to take that relationship to the next level. For some that may be buying your product or service or joining your membership program, but whatever it is you want to get people to subscribe to your email list.People who have subscribed to your email list have shown an interest in what you do and what you talk about. They have expressed a desire to learn more about you and these are the most valuable type of blog readers.
When you publish a new blog you can send your subscribers an email to let them know you have new content for them to consume. If you make the email compelling enough then you will automatically have a flood of traffic to your blog.
As stated at the beginning, knowing how to increase blog traffic is not difficult! There is a multitude of ways to promote your blog both online and offline; what is important is that you produce top quality content, be consistent, thorough and unrelenting.

0 7 Strategies to Encourage Visitors to Comment
Strategy #1 - Don't Panic - Be Patient - Build Traffic
If your blog is not getting much traffic commenting will be slow too. If your blog is new, say less than a year old, give it time. Once someone comments often this leads to further comments. Make sure you have attended to SEO and created sufficient backlinks to generate site traffic.
Strategy #2 - Always Post Quality Content
For visitors to post comments on your blog they have to have some kind of warm up to the content. It's that simple. Make sure you post frequent articles of a high quality.
Strategy #3 - Always Respond to New Comments
I make it a rule on my blog that I post a response to every comment made. I want people to come back and to know that there is someone there at the other end. A leading 6 figure blogger, Yaro Starak, made the comment recently that he noticed a sharp decline in comment posting when he stopped responding to each individual comment. Respond to comments and your readers are more likely to return and to even comment again.
Strategy #4 - Ask Questions of Your Readers
Some readers like to engage and you are more likely to capture these visitors by posting a question on your blog like What's the most annoying thing about Blogger? Tell us about your experince for example.
Strategy #5 - Write articles that reference or focus on other Bloggers
Yaro Starak who makes about $40,000 per month from blogging suggested in a recent newsletter that you not just mention other bloggers in your articles but write an article around them as a way to encourage the other blogger to comment on your blog. Haven't tried this one yet but it is on my list so I will let you know how I get on. If you have tried it already what happened?
Strategy #6 - Make it Easy For Visitors to Comment
For visitors to leave comments the commenting process has to be easy. Make sure the following are correctly set on your blog by navigating to Settings > Comments:
If you are using a custom template you may have trouble with the embed comment feature. Please refer to my article about how to update your template to incorporate the embed comments below posts feature.
Strategy #7 - Comment on Other Blogs
It is a good rule of thumb to comment on a visitors blog if they take the time to comment on yours. I'm not talking about spamming someone else's blog just writing a comment about some aspect of their blog that you appreciated, admired or interested you. And of course you can get a link back to your blog in the process.
This article focused on some of the reasons why visitors leave comments on a blog and discussed some basic blog visitor behaviour. I discussed 7 strategies that will help you encourage visitors to comment more. If you have any other ideas about encouraging comments I'd love to hear them. How about posting a comment to let me know how you encourage your readers to comment.

Get Your Blog Listed by Major Search Engines
Getting
listed in the major search engines is a must if you want to get traffic
from search engines. I have written several in depth articles about how to add a sitemap to major search engines and how to add your blog to Google, Yahoo and MSN so I will not repeat myself. Follow these articles for step by step walkthroughs
Optimize Your Blogger Post Titles
Major search engines lend a lot of weight to titles so it is important that you craft your post titles carefully. To optimize your post titles make them keyword rich and ensure the title clearly explains what the blog post is about. Try to put your keywords at the beginning of your title for best results and avoid repeating your keywords within the title. Avoid long titles as Google only displays about 65 characters in the search results anyway.
Title tags are important if your Blogger blog is to attract traffic and rank in search engine results. On your blog home page the blog title appears between the title tags while on each individual post page it is the name of the article itself. While the title tags themselves are unseen by the visitor to your blog they are read when search engines crawl your blog.
Search engines use title tags to display your post title as a headline in search engine results. Search engines also display a description of the article either by extracting it from the post content usually by picking up the first 150 characters of your post or by reading the meta description of the post if one exists.
Meta descriptions can be crafted for individual posts in Blogger to good effect. Make descriptions unique for each post and ensure they contain your target keywords and keyword phrases to encourage search engines to extract snippets from them. To find out more about adding a meta description to an individual post please see my article Adding Meta Tags to Blogger Blogspot Blog for Better SEO
Add Meta Tags and Blog Description to Blogger
Adding meta keywords and a blog description to your Blogger Blogspot blog can boost your rankings by helping visitors locate your blog using keyword and keyword phrases. Use Keywords in Alt Tags and Image Titles
Optimize the images used on your blog by making use of the alt tags and image titles. For some tips on SEO and images please refer to 10 Tips to Build Site Traffic for a Blogspot Blog
Use Target Keywords in Your Post Content
Make
sure you know your targeted keywords and use them within your post
content. One of the factors in determining rankings is the relevance of
the targeted keywords in relationship to the text that appears in the
post content.
Change the Order of Post Title and Blog Title for Better SEO
One key change you can make to Blogger that will markedly improve the SEO of your blog is to adjust the title tags.
By default Blogger title tags are not optimized for search engines. The name of the blog appears before the name of the article which is not search engine friendly. Since search engines read left to right and give preference to what appears first having your blog name display before your post title is significant. To improve SEO it pays to adjust the order of title tags so that the your post title appears first:
To find out how to adjust the title tags of a Blogger Blogspot blog please refer to my article Adjust Blogger Title Tags to Improve SEO
Optimize Your Blogger Permalinks
Hand in hand with a title tag is the permanent permalink that is created when a post is published. If the title of the post is more than about 35 characters long you will strike problems with Blogger because it will shorten the title to a 35-40 character permalink. Some very ugly results happen because of this factor. For instance imagine a permalink such as:
A totally useless permalink results because the blogger keyword has been left off. Learn more about crafting titles and working around the limitations of Blogger permalinks in my article How to Create Search Engine Friendly Permalinks

Improve SEO by Making Use of Headings for Post Titles
Heading tags are important for optimal SEO. Most Blogger.com templates use html header tags sized <h2> or <h3> for the post title. In the past major search engines like Google gave precedence to tags with <h1> ahead of anything else but how important <h1> tags are today is less certain. You could tweak the heading size of your post title if you wish however take care to ensure the look of your template isn't compromised. A bigger font will result and this may mean other parts of your blog will need to be adjusted to compensate. To find out what size your blog title is look for the following lines in your template.
As can be seen this template blog title is in <h3>. To change the size of the tags just substitute the appropriate header tag where <h3> appears
Improve SEO By Making Use of Heading Tags Within Posts
Heading tags can be used to good effect in your posts. Make sure you have only one <h1> heading per page if you have one at all and reserve this for your post title. Make use of <h2> and <h3> headings throughout your post to emphasize key points and targeted keywords. Major search engines do take notice of <h2> and <h3> headings when crawling your blog. To add emphasis to a heading within your blog simply enclose the heading in <h3> tags.
Add Breadcrumb Navigation to your Blogger Blog
There is a hack that can be used to add breadcrumb navigation to a Blogger Blogspot blog. Adding breadcrumb navigation can boost your SEO of your blog as well as improving how readers get around.

A breadcrumb provides text-based navigation by displaying the visitor's location within a blog. A breadcrumb provides shortcuts to enable visitors to quickly get around your blog and jump from one part of your blog to another. For example a breadcrumb for a post about meta tags would be Home > Meta Tags >Add Meta Tags to Blogger for Better SEO. An anchor text such as 'meta tags' tells search engines about the subject of the linked page. Search engines view a breadcrumb with a text link to relevant keywords in the post as important.
This article has focused on providing you with solid Blogger SEO advice, tips and tricks for the Blogspot Blogger. It will help you achieve good SEO results for your blog. Good luck. If you have time let me know about your experiences.

You could tweak the heading size of your post title if you wish however take care to ensure the look of your template isn't compromised. A bigger font will result and this may mean other parts of your blog will need to be adjusted to compensate. To find out what size your blog title is look for the following lines in your template.
<b:if cond='data:post.title'>
<h3 class='post-title entry-title'>
<b:if cond='data:post.link'>
<a expr:href='data:post.link'>&t/a>
<b:else/>
<b:if cond='data:post.url'>
<a expr:href='data:post.url'></a>
<b:else/>
<data:post.title/>
</b:if>
</b:if>
</h3>
</b:if>
As can be seen this template blog title is in <h3>.
